[Infographic] Facebook Timeline Reference Guide All In One Graphic

A friend of mine (Thank you Jackie!) found this infographic cirulating on Facebook and I decided to write a post about it. It is a really helpful tool that you can use when converting your business page over to Timeline or updating graphics on your page. It features the dimensions of your cover photo, profile photo, custom tab photo, shared photo, highlighted photo and custom tab page all in one handy graphic. Kudos to TabSite for putting this infographic together.

[Infographic] From Pinterest to Purchase

All eyes were on Pinterest this year when it was revealed that it drives more web traffic than YouTube, Google+ and LinkedIn combined. If you haven’t heard of Pinterest, it is a social bookmarking tool used to share or “pin” photos found on the web to virtual bulletin boards. The photo’s can be categorized into “collections” or boards. Think of it like an interactive, shareable scrapbook. Like most social networks, you can follow other users (like BrandLove, LLC), share their content, make comments, and tag users. Similar to a Twitter stream, you get real-time updates of what the people you follow are pinning. What’s so compelling about a website that lets you make virtual bulletin boards of “pinned” images, observers wondered, and does this service now belong in the pantheon of must-use social tools like Facebook and Twitter? Perhaps most important, marketers are asking, is this something that will drive revenue and should I add Pinterest to my social media marketing strategy?  Vision Critical research in collaboration with Emily Carr University looks at the relationship between pinning and purchase. This infographic represents a survey taken of 500 Pinterest users and their pinning habits from the US, Canada, UK and Australia. Click the image below for an infographic representation of the survey results.

[Infographic] How LinkedIn Works and Why You Should Care

I stumbled onto this infographic and thought it was a great way to help explain to you how LinkedIn works and how many people are using it. I would like to note that as of March 31, 2012, LinkedIn operates the world’s largest professional network on the Internet with 161 million members in over 200 countries and territories. Professionals are signing up to join LinkedIn at a rate of approximately two new members per second. And, more than 2 million companies have LinkedIn Company Pages. LinkedIn members did nearly 4.2 billion professionally-oriented searches on the platform in 2011 and are on pace to surpass 5.3 billion in 2012. Those numbers are staggering. If you or your company doesn’t have a LinkedIn presence yet, I would highly suggest making this a priority. If you couldn’t tell, I am a big fan of LinkedIn and have several blog posts featuring tips and tricks. Click on the Category Cloud/LinkedIn to find all the articles. If you are on LinkedIn, way to go! Feel free to connect with me.

Totally Rad Retro Video’s of Facebook, Twitter, Google, Pinterest, DrawSomething and Angry Birds.

As requested, more flashback videos created by Squirrel Monkey. They are creating some funny videos showing how the most popular technology would have looked in the 80′s and 90′s—from the re-creation of the dial-up Facebook instructional video to an amazing rendition of Google and Twitter in BBS mode. Also, an 8-bit sensibility to spoof popular apps like Angry Birds and DrawSomething. If you’re wondering where LinkedIn is, you can find the 80′s rendition in an earlier blog post here.

Check them all out:

Facebook in the 1990′s.

Twitter in the 1980′s.

Google in the 1980′s.

If Angry Birds Were a Home Computer Game in the 1980′s.

Pinterest in the 1990′s.

If DrawSomething Were an Old PC Game.
